In 2011, Jennifer won a public art competition for Zeitbike; she designed and built three bicycle racks for the city of Tacoma. They were displayed at the Tacoma Art Museum temporarily and scheduled to move to a secondary location. She proposed three different designs: Zip, Boinggg, and Velocipede. Her designs drew inspiration from organic and whimsical motion, with two of the three being onomatopoeias. Velocipede is unique in how it got its name as, rather than a sound of motion, it is an umbrella term for a “human-powered land vehicle with one or more wheels,” the most common of which is a bicycle. Zip was inspired by the overarching theme of silly motion, whereas Boinggg was tied directly to the image of a cartoon bunny hopping across the landscape.
